After many days (OK, weeks) of slacking, I have at last added a bit to my story. “A bit” – that’s slang for “nowhere near as much as my goal.” Technically speaking, I’ve probably met my goal easily, if I were counting the multiple and extensive evaluations I’ve been writing at work, but I’m not… counting them, that is. For now. Let’s hope I don’t become so pathetic that I’ll count every word I write, even sticky notes and these blog entries!
Word count now: 3507
On the knitting front (what? you didn’t think “knit” was part of the blog’s name for no reason at all, did you?) I have finished a baby sweater and knit a scarf and 2/3 of the back of another baby sweater.
Oh, you see “read” up there too? I must confess to having read seven books since my last update.
And the “purr”? I included it in the title because I love cats, but this month it relates thusly (yes, thusly) to my lack of writing: My beautiful furball is living with my mom in another town about 100 miles away, so to see her and make her, um, purr, I have to spend a weekend at my mom’s. Which, let me assure you in no uncertain terms, means I will NOT be writing.
And does the time spent on this knitting, reading and making my spoiled kitty purr relate in any way to the time I spent not writing this month?
Um, probably.
Somewhat.
That is, yes.
Yes, it does.
Sigh.
I find that if I really want to write, I generally have to pass on other creative things for a little while. Seems I only have so much creative energy and I can use it crafting or cooking, or I can use it writing. Outside of work, then, I have to choose to do the writing first, and when I’m done with that, I can do whatever crafty thing I want. Sigh.
