My first 2009 project is a pair of Fetching mitts (found on Knitty.com in the archives) for Cupcake to wear at the med faire and for me to wear whenever I want to. They match Cupcake’s ruffled scarf exactly, as I used the leftover yarn from skein 2 on that project. The mitts took about half a skein; each skein has 221 yds (202 m). So, details:
Yarn: Bernat satin sport yarn in Vino
Needle: US size-4 circular
Time: 5-6 hours
Mods: I used the Magic Loop technique, rather than using DPNs. I think my thumbs have one row fewer than called for in the pattern. And I didn’t do the picot cast-off. I tried it on the first mitt, but didn’t like it, so I did a plain K4P1 bind-off.
