Yarn: Plymouth Yarn Dreambaby D.K. (50% acrylic, 50% microfiber) in color# 117 (soft green, almost pastel). 183 yds/skein, I used about 1/4-1/3 of a skein.
Needle: US size 2 circ
Pattern: Stockinette with rolled brim. No pattern, really, just 48 stitches worked in the round (Magic Loop, of course) until the hat got tall enough, then 4 rows of decreases (alternating with stockinette), then thread tail through the 6 stitches remaining on the needle, pull tight and weave in ends.
