It’s the reason my hand has not been up to extended periods of knitting for the last 3 days. Thus the baby aran has had a bit of a slowdown, production-wise.
Wanna see?

Ouch! Oh, and baby aran after day 8
That bruise at the base of my left index finger is the result of a klutz moment while chez Mom. I don’t remember what I whacked my hand on, although I do remember that it hurt like a motherfrakker. Since then, I find my hand getting sore and tired in about half the time it used to.
Behind my hand, you see the sweater so far. It’s a side view, so the back (on the knitting needle) is on the left side and the front (on stitch holders) is on the right. Right now, the row count on the back is at five complete cable patterns and I’m about 1.5 inches from the neck shaping there. That’s about 10 rows, I think. Then there are only 4 rows of shoulder shaping to the shoulder castoff.
After that, I’ll do the front.
Obviously, I decided not to try to do both sides simultaneously. Not out of principle or fear that it would be awkward or cumbersome, but because I didn’t have a separate skein for the front side and I didn’t want to work from both ends of the one skein I had with me. Sometimes, circumstances decide for us, n’est-ce pas?

About that whole liar-or-idiot thing, I’ll have to wait till next post to clarify. It’s almost 11 p.m. and I worked (almost) 12 hours today, with a 5:30 a.m. wakeup tomorrow, so I’m too pooped to go into it now. I thank you for your indulgence.
