Yarn: Bernat Soy Natural Blends (about 1.5 skeins or 200 yds) in the Celery colorway. It’s actually a soft, iced-green color, not as bright as celery. This was sale yarn from my stash.
Needle: US size 4 circular
3 buttons from my stash
Pattern: Autumn Leaves by Nikki Van De Car
1st mod: I knit 2 rows of stockinette before splitting the work for sleeves.
2nd mod: This was done entirely unintentionally… but repeatedly for most of the pattern, so we’re gonna call it a “design personalization,” okay? Okay. I was supposed to only work the increases in the body of the sweater (below the yoke) ever 4 rows after the first 6 rows, but I wasn’t paying close attention and wound up doing it every 2 rows for nearly the entirety of the “skirt.” I finally noticed and doing it, but I’d already reached 8 rows before the moss-stitch border at the bottom. You can see the difference if you look at the picture closely. As this particular cardi will go on a baby girl, who will be wearing a poofy diaper, I think the extra increases will let the skirt swing out further to cover the diaper better.
Final dimensions: 10 inches from collar to hem. 16 inches around the tightest part of the sweater (under the arms).
