by Lee Child – Fast-paced and engrossing, this fourth Jack Reacher novel leads you on the trail of a truly mysterious serial killer, one who has focused women who were sexually harassed or raped while in the Army. The FBI has put a reluctant Reacher in a bind, one that threatens Jack’s freedom and Julia’s life. They are determined that he will assist them in their search, whether he wants to or not.
As the body count mounts and the mystery deepens, Reacher becomes intrigued despite himself. And it’s a good thing he does, because the FBI isn’t getting anywhere on its own.
The ending is entirely logical and still caught me by surprise. Highly recommended to Reacher fans, but possibly not the best introduction to the series and its major characters. (finished 4/23/13)
