by Philip K Dick – Quirky, unpredictable, unsettling, philosophical, this short classic dystopian novel touches on the nature of humanity in a post-apocalyptic world. This is the novel from which the movie Bladerunner evolved, but this book was not as dark or violent as the film. Only one scene in particular seemed to have been taken directly from the book and played verbatim in the movie. Otherwise, there was little direct correlation. As I wasn’t expecting it to read like the novel of the movie, I wasn’t surprised that it didn’t.
Recommended for those lovers of dystopian scifi. (finished 4/25/13)
