by Lisa Lutz – Book 5 of the Spellman Files series is a solid novel, but it lacks the spark of silliness or whimsy that pervade the earlier books. The difference is subtle, but it’s palpable. In the earlier books, I found many laugh-out-loud moments, but this book had only one, really. It’s set in a taxi cab and comes in the last quarter of the novel.
Rest assured I did like the book, but it didn’t captivate me as completely as I’d have liked. As always, YMMV. (finished 3/4/14)
