by Virginia McCullough – (St. Anne’s Island series, #1) Well written, with characters whose motivations make sense and who seem like real people, especially the adult characters. The teen characters are not quite as realistic, but they are nonetheless interesting and engaging. The plot and setting are believable, although the book includes more boat and sailing info than the story calls for, showing off the author’s familiarity with those topics, but not moving the plot forward. I cared about the characters and wanted the best for them, but found the ending to be a little too pat.
