These are the famous Fetching mitts, with about 90 rows of plain K4P1 rib before the pattern starts. I started them 2 needle sizes larger than the mitt pattern calls for (to accommodate my upper arms), then shifted down one needle size (to go over the elbows and forearms), then shifted to the mitt’s needle size (for me that’s US 4) for the rest. Sorry if that is confusing, ’cause it was really pretty easy and required little thought/planning.
The yarn: Bernat Satin Sport, about a skein’s worth. Like Cupcake’s Ruffled Scarf, the color is Wine.
Mods: except for the long arm part, I knit the pattern as written, minus the picot castoff. I really like the Fetching pattern and will probably make more of them. Don’t ask me how long the arms will be, ’cause who knows? This longer version is pretty cool and I may have to do them again in another color and/or fiber.
